Cyril Rioli (HAW)
WHY?
His stats speak for themselves and show why he has been so consistent in SuperCoach this year. Per game he is averaging 3.7 tackles, 1.9 goals, 4.6 marks and 15.9 disposals (at 77% efficiency). Per game he also averages 3.2 inside 50s, 1 goal assist, 2.4 clearances and only 1.8 clangers (ranked equal 326th in the AFL). He isn't starring with any of these stats individually, but together they make him a good all-round player. He is always injury prone, but it is simply an IF. On the positive side, he's already had an injury this year, so maybe that's his injury for 2014. At 440k he is the cheapest he's been all year and I couldn't see him being too much cheaper, maybe 420-430k depending on what his breakeven (currently +80) does. You wouldn't be reading this if you weren't willing to take a risk.
HIS SCORING...
An average of 93.4 isn't overly flattering, but let me break it down for you. He has scored pretty consistently, especially when you consider the inconsistencies of a lot of the forwards. His scores thus far are 107, 108, 77, 74, 154, 117, 40, 77, 89, 91. Let me take out that 40 as that was the game when he was injured. Suddenly his low of 74 doesn't look too bad. This also boosts his average to 99. That average places him as the 6th best forward, behind Harvey, Gray, D.Martin, Dangerfield, S.Martin & Parker. As they're all popular selections, an average of 99 is easily the best forward POD. It also makes him the best outright forward as all of those ahead of him are mid/fwd DPP (with Martin fwd/ruck the exception). This breakdown makes Rioli very appealing.
NEXT 5....
This week Rioli faces the Gold Coast. He has only played them twice, fairing well both times, with a 77 & 85. In the following 4 games after that, he plays two of his favourite sides (Adelaide and Bulldogs) who he averages 111.4 & 104.5 against. His highest scores against his next 5 opponents are Gold Coast 85, North Melbourne 124, Adelaide 167, Sydney 123 & Western Bulldogs 159.

IF....
....you're short on cash and want a cheap POD then Cale Hooker (DEF - $386,700) is worth looking at. He is averaging 88 this year and has been a bit quiet (not terrible) over the last 5 weeks. However his quality shone through with 6 tons in the first 8 rounds. Hopefully he can get back to that scoring.
