1. Steve JOHNSON Geelong
2. Jobe WATSON Essendon
The Bombers captain is on fire this year, averaging 126 pts per game and leading his side perfectly. This week they take on the struggling Saints – possibly still without key tagger Clinton JONES – and one would expect WATSON to get plenty of the footy. He averages 123 against the Saints, including recent scores of 136 in 2011 and 106 & 100 in 2010. The Bombers always play well against the Saints – expect their leader to be right at the front this weekend.
3. Matt PRIDDIS West Coast
The Eagles ball-magnet has been good without being spectacular in 2012, averaging 102 pts per game. This week he comes up against the Kangaroos, the one team against who he has his highest average of any club – a huge 136 pts per game (despite a poor 89 earlier this year). In 2011 he scored 128 pts, and in 2010 he almost matched that with 121 against the Roos. Can he better than this time around?
With the Hawthorn playing the Giants, Geelong playing the Suns and Richmond clashing with Melbourne, there are plenty of other top-tier players to keep your eye on for captain. SELWOOD, MITCHELL, DELEDIO, COTCHIN and of course BUDDY (if he plays) could also score huge this weekend.
