Scott THOMPSON Adelaide Crows
Matt PRIDDIS West Coast
West Coast tackle-machine PRIDDIS has been in very consistent form in 2012, averaging a very tidy 11 pts for those that have him as an integral part of their midfield. This week PRIDDIS and his Eagles come up against a red-hot Hawthorn at the MCG – a ground with plenty of space for him to accumulate possessions. With an average of 125 against the Hawks over his career, he has scores against them in recent times of 104 in 2012 and 134 in 2011. With an average of 108 at the ‘G, PRIDDIS be the man to pull another one out of his hat.
Lenny HAYES St Kilda
Crowd-favourite Lenny HAYES this week leads his Saints against Carlton, a team he averages 116 pts per game against. With an average of 103 per game for 2012, HAYES has been inspirational in his comeback from a knee reco, and I expect him to end the year with a bang this weekend – especially since he had the luxury of being rested for the second half last weekend (after scoring 67 pts in the first half!). His recent scores against the Blues tally 107 in 2012, 107 in 2010 and 125 in 2009. Do you love Lenny enough to take a chance on him as your captain this week?
Of course, as usual we look at who is playing who to see some other potential captain choices, and there is a lot on offer. Maybe Deledio or Cotchin against Port? Perhaps Dangerfield against the Gold Coast? The Kanga’s Brent Harvey taking on the Giants? The Pies Swan, Pendlebury or Beames against an Essendon outfit that has forgotten how to play footy? Maybe even the Pav against the Demons at home? Decisions, decisions, decisions….good luck!
