1. Nick DAL SANTO (St. Kilda)
How on earth Dal is considered a “left field” captains choice is beyond me. Starting off with a very tidy 148 pts in round one against the Power, Dal SANTO now comes up against
2. Brendan GODDARD (St Kilda)
After a steady 116 points in round one, the ever-popular GODDARD comes up against the struggling GC Suns this week at Etihad – a stadium he absolutely loves. In 52% of teams, GODDARD is a common pick but rarely gets mentioned in the captaincy debate, but this week could be his week. He belted out a very tidy 138 pts in the corresponding match-up in 2011, and looks set to have an impressive score this week also. Feel safe in selecting GODDARD – in 54 games at Etihad he has averaged a sensational 120 pts. Nice.
3. Greg BROUGHTON (Fremantle)
Another popular SC defender, BROUGHTON has been selected in a touch over 11% of teams – all of whom would’ve been very disappointed with his paltry 57 points last weekend. His role is yet to really been determined in the Ross Lyon-led Purple Haze, but BROUGHTON’s stats against Sydney in the past two years cannot be ignored. In games at both the SCG and Patersons Stadium, he scored 127 and 144 pts respectively – very impressive tallies. Do you have the courage to select him to lead your squad this week?
Hopefully we have a bit better luck this week – remember, like trying to pick the winning outsider in race 5 at Flemington, it’s a little bit hit and miss, but that’s all part of the fun. Good luck!
