1. Brent MOLONEY Melbourne
2. Sam FISHER St. Kilda
Once a Supercoach “must have”, FISHER has dropped off a bit this season in SC terms, forced to play a bit more of a lock down role since Zac DAWSON left the Saints. With an average of only 81 pts he looks dodgy, however his average against the Pies is 129, including recent scores against them of 127 and 82 in 2011, and 110 in 2010. If he gets free across half back, he could really stack up the points – and he is one Saint who goes okay in the MCG spaces, averaging 106 points per game there.
3. Drew PETRIE Nth Melbourne
PETRIE has had some super games this year, but unfortunately there have also been some very quiet ones. However, his average of 100 pts per game puts him in the upper echelon of forwards for 2012. This week the Kangas take on the Bulldogs – a team who Nick RIEWOLDT took to the cleaners last weekend. That is a good sign for PETRIE, who averages 120 pts against the Bullies including a huge 157 in 2011. Could PETRIE put on another show this weekend?
As usual we also need to mention those big names playing the weaker teams – and with Melbourne playing Gold Coast, it all comes down to GWS and their opponent, Port Adelaide. Wow, what a ripsnorter that is. Not really anyone to mention in either of those games – except the perennial choice of Gazza, of course. Lock him in if you’re looking for the safe caption choice.
