Round 4 is an important round in SuperCoach terms and often will define your season.
Trading is a debatable this week, with it being possibly the last chance to rectify mistakes, but could see some coaches left with only 24 trades (3/4)! Today I look at some of the best options to trade in this week, the duds you should dump and the players to keep faith with.

Trade In:
Jackson Merrett:
Average: 103
Price: $332,100
Breakeven: -22
Merrett has been tremendous in the first 3 rounds, with scores of 102, 77 and 130. After an average NAB Cup campaign, it’s fair to say nobody saw this coming. Rotating through the midfield and half-forward, Merrett’s immediate job-security is as safe as houses and is a perfect downgrade target (e.g Caddy) this week.
Shane Mumford:
Average: 151
Price: $565,400
Breakeven: -8
Big Mummy has been rejuvenated at his 3rd AFL club and is absolutely dominating! Has started the year off with a bang, averaging a whopping 151. Guaranteed to get 40+ hitouts every week and to the surprise of many, Mumford has started the year with 24 tackles! I have had him since the start and he must be traded into you Supercoach team ASAP.
Dom Tyson:
Average: 103
Price: $296,300
Breakeven: -34
Will turn out to be the cash-cow of the season in my eyes and if for some reason he isn’t already in your team (starting), there is still time to jump on. Excellent job-security in a struggling demons outfit, the 20-year-old has started the season with scores of 111, 105 and 94. A MUST
Luke Dunstan:
Average: 102
Price: $232,800
Breakeven: -78
An absolute gun! Dunstan has made an immediate impact in AFL footy, being awarded a rising-star nomination in round 1. With scores of 100, 64, 143 he (like Tyson) is a must-have in Supercoach. 44% of teams are in love with this man-child and if you’re one of the 56% that don’t have him already......what are you doing!?! Play him on your field every week.
*If for some reason you haven’t already got Ablett and Pendlebury in your team, get them in. Both vital*

Trade Out:
Josh Caddy:
Average: 68
Price: $329,800
Breakeven: 59
Many of us were sucked into trading in Caddy with his delicious 300k price tag. So far he has been a massive letdown for our teams. Despite finding a lot of the footy, his efficiency (58%) has been poor, which is bad for SuperCoach. Scores of 81, 71 and 53 have got me looking to sideways trade him for the likes of Merrett or Higgins.
Gary Rohan:
Average: 35
Price: $176,000
Breakeven: 40
Everyone was excited when they saw Gary Rohan was priced at 175k for season 2014. He was going to be the ultimate cash cow for our sides. Our expectations for little Gary were way too high and if you can believe it, he dropped in value ($200) last week. With scores of 47, 37, 21 he is not even good bench cover and will now only begin to decrease in value. Look to trade to the likes of Ambrose or Taylor.
Corey Enright:
Average: 82
Price: $506,800
Breakeven: 118
This is a big call to say the least, but with the uncertainty surrounding Enright’s return and a vast range of defensive options, I will be clicking the T button this week. Enright will only play 10-12 more games this season in my opinion (will be treated cautiously). Look to bring in reliable sources such as Mitchell, Hibberd and even Robet Murphy. If it’s cash generation you’re looking for, maybe Jaensch is an option (150k in bank).

Keep The Faith:
Patrick Dangerfield:
Average: 93
Price: $571,400
Breakeven: 146
Dangerfield is the perfect Supercoach forward and a proven premium. With a soft draw coming up (Saints, GWS, Bulldogs, Melbourne) expect Danger to average well over 100 and come into captaincy contention. Is known for starting slow, so be prepared to suffer if you trade him out! For those who don’t have him, look to trade him in at juicy price (550ish).
Jarrad McVeigh:
Average: 87
Price: $537,400
Breakeven: 118
McVeigh has been very disappointing thus far, failing to reach 90. It’s his first year as a Supercoach defender, so who knows he may just have stage fright? At 537k we expect a lot more from the bald man and I have faith in him still averaging over 100 this year.
Dale Thomas:
Average: 78
Price: $355,700
Breakeven: 24
If you didn’t trade out Daisy last week, you must keep him in my eyes. Coming off 92 & 82, Thomas is starting to hit his straps after a brief pre-season. This guy certainly knows how to score, averaging 109 back in 2011, but its his injury history that is concerning people. With a break-even of 24, Daisy will continue to increase in value (100-150k) as well as being a more than capable M6. The blues play Melbourne this week and I’d expect Thomas to ton up.
