Selecting the right players to trade in, and out of your side is vital. Here, we'll run through the best rookies to bring in, who are important for cash generation, and the rookies to dump. We'll also look at the premiums, which you'll look to upgrade your rookies to.
Money Makers
Jeremy McGovern (FWD) - Price: $213,200 - - Breakeven: -103
Stefan Martin (RUC/FWD) - $242,700 - -68
Anthony Miles (MID) - $246,000 - -43
Maverick Weller (DEF) - $241,600 - -11
There are no cheap rookies on the bubble this week, so we look at some options over $200k.
I told you to get on McGovern last week and he scored a whopping 146! If you missed out then don’t worry, it’s not too late. He has a massive breakeven and is set to skyrocket in price.
Martin is appealing at $242k, as he’ll make cash, but will also provide cover in your forward and ruck departments. Miles has no trouble finding the ball and the ball magnet is a good option for your midfield bench. Due to lack of defensive rookies, Weller is someone you should look at, as he should have decent JS.
Dump
Dom Tyson (MID) - $448,500 - 140
Kade Kolodjashnij (DEF) - $369,700 - 103
Tom Derickx (RUC) - $312,400 - 66
Will Langford (DEF) - $327,400 - 47
Tyson and Kolodjashnij make another appearance here, so nothing more has to be said. Derickx may lose his spot when Pyke is back, so it’s time to dump him. Langford can’t get a game anymore, so it’s time to move him on.
Watchlist
Darcy Lang (MID) - $142,300 - Average: 37
Brad Hartman (FWD) - $123,900 - Average: 61
Tim Broomhead (FWD) - $123,900 - Average: 15
Ben Ross (MID) - $102,400 - Average: 28

Get on
Nic Naitanui (RUC) - $474,900 - 26
Chad Wingard (MID/FWD) - $390,500 - 30
Pearce Hanley (DEF/MID) - $478,700 - 35
Matt Stokes (MID) - $541,500 - 43
Nic Nat seems to have found his mojo, averaging 123 from his last three. Wingard is great value at under $400k and could be used as a swingman. Hanley has also found some form and looking at becoming one of the top defenders. Stokes is a forgotten man and is a massive POD. He averages 109 and his price is set to increase quite a bit.
Watchlist
Tom Rocliff (MID) - $635,900 - 203
Josh P. Kennedy (MID) - $635,600 - 153
David Swallow (DEF/MID) - $493,800 - 150
Steve Johnoson (MID) - $516,300 - 133
Rockliff and JPK, two of the competition’s best midfielders this year are set the drop in price in the coming weeks and become more affordable. If you still don’t have David Swallow, then look to bring him in soon. If you didn't bring in Stevie J last week, you might as well wait another week as he’s set to lose more cash.
