Best first year player: Dayne Zorko – 16 matches, 1600 points @ 100. Increased $383,600
If you’re new to SuperCoach, Zorko is the definition of a ‘keeper’. After his slow start against Collingwood as the substitute in round 7, Zorko only scored below 80 once, playing every remaining match. Incredible to think, as he was only $113,200 at the beginning.
Most improved: Ben Hudson – 18 matches, 1673 points @ 92.9.

What a turnaround from one of the league’s oldest players. Picked up by Brisbane surely as just an emergency, he
ended up playing 18 matches in Leuenberger’s absence and pulled out a high of 133. He was heading downhill at the Dogs, but his first season at Brisbane was all up. Is there more to come from the 33 year old?
Best buy: Jack Redden (after round 6) – 16 matches, 1746 points @ 106.1Increased $102,900
Redden started the year slowly, but from round 7 onwards (at which point he was priced $455,100) he went on to average nearly 110 points per game, making him an absolute steal.
Worst buy: Tom Rockliff – 22 matches, 2140 points @ 97.3. Decreased $241,900
His numbers don’t look too bad, but considering he started 2012 priced $615,600, buyers didn’t get their money’s worth. There was a massive 167 early on, but as a result of spending plenty of time forward, he scored under 70 six times.
2013 prospects
Daniel Rich: Rich won the Rising Star award in 2008, so obviously there is potential. His raking left-footers are a joy to watch, and towards the end of 2012 he developed nicely. The second and third year blues are common for players, so Rich’s fourth year might be his best yet.
Matthew Leuenberger: Unfortunately the Big Berger’s season was over in round 3 when he badly hurt his achilles, after two solid performances of 100 and 103 in the first two rounds. He should be considerably cheaper in 2013 and will return to the number one ruck role immediately.
Tom Rockliff: The word on the street is that Rockliff will return to his forward eligibility again next year, which on the back of a slow finish to 2013 would make him extremely tempting. Watch his pre-season to see whether he will continue to be played forward for the Lions.
