BEST FIRST YEAR PLAYER:
Nick Vlastuin – DEF/MID – 1277 points @ 75
Vlastuin burst onto the scene in his 3rd game which was RND7 scoring 105 Supercoach points. Like most players, he enjoyed another massive score the following week against the Demons posting 141. Unfortunately after that, he only cracked the tonne one more time RND10 against WCE. Nick had a brilliant 1st year and quickly established himself as a required player with 9 straight appearances and a total of 18 games.
MOST IMPROVED:
Daniel Jackson – MID – 2036 points @ 92
Richmond’s deserving B&F medal winner this year was also their most improved player in Supercoach. You could argue Dustin Martin, who improved his average from 89 to 101 this year as ‘most improved’, however 2 years ago he averaged 99. Daniel Jackson has improved his average from 71 in 2012 up to 92 this year and has played a crucial midfield role in what can only be described as ‘tame’ years for the likes of Cotchin and Deledio. Jacko saved his best performance for last, in R23 against the Bombers he dished out 143 Supercoach points and increased by more than $110,000.
