Seven rounds done, and one to go!
That’s until we start finals, of course. But let’s have a real good look at Round 8, which starts in Adelaide tonight.
The big winners from the Strikers’ double round were Shaun Tait and Phil Hughes, however it was a very underwhelming round from the Adelaide boys, considering they played twice.
The good news about the final home and away round is there is no double-up and no bye! Every team has one more game, so everyone is on a level playing field to finish the year.
Immediately following this round, the finals begin. It’s nothing to worry about, as there will be unlimited trades to get yourself ready for the final four.

Team News
Star pacemen Lasith Malinga (international call-up) and Yasir Arafat (thumb) have been ruled out of the reminder of the BBL! Bad news for each side and for the competition in general. Find a replacement if you have them.
The Sydney Sixers’ captain Steve Smith has been called into the Australian ODI squad, so don’t expect to see anymore of him.
Don’t forget that Matthew Wade (to go with Dan Christian) have been added to that squad for the final two games as well – you’ll have to find replacements for two guys who are very important to their side.
Dwayne Bravo gets another crack for the Renegades after his late debut, and you could do a lot worse than recruit the explosive West Indian.
The Australian Twenty20 squad which includes names like Chris Lynn, Ben Cutting, Moises Henriques and Cameron White (to name a few) won’t be effecting the final round of games, as the Twenty20 series begins on Jan 29 and Round 8 concludes on Jan 27.

Captaincy Corner
With no double-week, this is a tough one. Look to the all-rounders I think: Luke Wright, Moises Henriques, Mitch Marsh, even Ben Cutting (who in the game is an all-rounder). At least that way if they fail with one aspect (bat or ball), they can have a go with the other.
If you're a long way behind though, maybe you need to roll the dice. White, Mike Hussey, Tillakaratne Dilshan have been hit and miss players, but could go large.
