The dust has settled on the AFL trade and free agency period now folks, so I'm have a quick look at which diamonds in the rough might appear in 2014. Let me know if any other folks tickle your fancy as we lead into next year (All ages at round one next year).
Defence:
Shaun Edwards - GWS to ESS (age 20)
Edwards should be pretty reasonably priced given he has played so little in his career. He played two matches last year and 10 matches in his first year (2012) and averaged 13 disposals playing off half-back. He's nicely sized at 190cms, and with his third pre-season under his belt, should be ripe for AFL footy. I'm hoping the Dons give him a go, he's been compared to the Crows' Andrew McLeod - a nice rap to have. NAB cup will of course, be crucial.

Ruck
Tom Derickx - RICH to SYD (age 26)
This is certainly a long shot - but Derickx will be as cheap as they come as he's played just twice in three years. As shown last year, the Swans love to play two ruckmen, at least. At times they had all the big men: Pyke, Mumford, Tippett & White all playing. With plenty of departures in October though, their ruck stocks are seriously thin. Other than some new draftees, big Tom is the only mature ruckman on their list, excluding Tippett and Pyke. A Ruck4 option for sure.
