It was great to see Gary Ablett carve it up again (unless you're a Cats fan), he was simply untouchable in his awesome display against the Adelaide Crows. It was these performances that led to Ablett being locked in as captain everyweek just a couple of years ago. His 198 is the highest score this year, eclipsing Jude Bolton's 193 in round 2.
Also - it was very refreshing to see Daniel Wells finally dominate, what a champion player he could be/could have been. 175 points for Wells is hopefully the signal for him that allows him to dominate the competition like he could, and probably should. Less than 1% of teams have Wells, and he's averaging 100+. However, he's only passed the ton twice this year.
I know it greatly effected my team on the weekend - Jasper Pittard's late withdrawal and Jobe Watson's hammy! I had selected Watson as captain this week and thought it was a masterstroke as Dane Swan could only muster 98 on Friday night. How disappointed I was. And I expected better form my only Port Adelaide player, Pittard, as well.
Still - a really exciting round. Gold Coast's new stadium will be known as Metricon Stadium, and the good news is that it is nearly ready! Hooray! Time to jump on the GC bandwagon (Maybe for those Saints supporters!)?
Next up is DreamTime at the 'G though, and I can't (Jarrad) wait(e).
Congrats to Geelong for regaining top spot on the ladder. How do they do it?
