After having great seasons in 2009 and 2010 (average of 97 and 91 respectively), Paul Duffield’s 2011 was way below his standards and he managed to average only 75.7 SuperCoach ppg.
While most consider mastermind coach Ross Lyon someone who ruins the SuperCoach careers of many decent players with his negative tactics and lack of patience with rookies, for Duffield he was a world of good.
His career-best form corresponded with Greg Broughton’s hand injury, and Duffield finally returned to the roaming defender role in which he scored three 150+ scores in 2009. Just a coincidence? I think not. With Broughton moving to the Suns, Duffield will be a lone ranger in his highly successful position down back.
People are considering Broughton again, but like the Duff-man, you’ll be better off without him. Duffield is a lock and should be considered very strongly.
Is he worth the gamble? Let us in on your thoughts below.
