The sole ruck position in SC finals offers us a very interesting situation.
A lot less money in the salary cap and a lot less quality to choose from.
The top three ruckmen from the normal SuperCoach; Will Minson, Todd Goldstein & Dean Cox are all from sides who failed to make the finals.
If you want a gun, Jarryd ROUGHEAD ($419,200) is probably your man. His average from his last five games is 93. Matthew KREUZER ($431,300) & Ivan MARIC ($416,400) are the other two big guns to consider, but they have both struggled with injuries in the back half of the year. It's a lot of money to use when neither will definitely pump out a massive score.

For that reason look to Shane MUMFORD ($380,300), who is coming off a season high 159 against Hawthorn last week. His last five average is 115, and he's the form ruckman of the finals. He's cheaper than the top three too.
There are also two very good cheaper options in Aaron SANDILANDS ($266,400) & Brodie GRUNDY ($271,200). Both these guys have fantastic upside: Sandi plays against Geelong who really don't have a decent ruckman, and Grundy has improved every week as he keeps Jolly & Hudson out of the Pies' side.
In my opinion, it's a much better option to go on the cheap side, for week one at least. You can pay an extra $150,000 for a big name ruckman, and you'll gain an extra 30-40 points. But using that money elsewhere, like the midfield for example, you can bring in a true elite. Using the saved money on a top line Swan, Pendlebury, Johnson or Selwood for example will earn you potentially a lot more than just 40 points, as well as providing a captain option.
What about yourself? Who's your sole ruckman going to be? Have your say below.
