of SuperCoach and that is the upgrade stage. With many cash cows beginning to
run thin, it’s time to start thinking about chopping them for some undervalued
premiums. Some names that will fall under this category in the coming weeks are
Dom Tyson, Xavier Ellis and Luke Dunstan leading the way for the cash cows while
the all important cheap premiums read as Dane Swan, Jobe Watson, Joel Selwood
and Ryan Griffen.
It was familiar look at the top end of the round 5 scorers, with
Dangerfield (192), Ablett (161) and Marc Murphy (153) all in the top four and
all making many a SuperCoach happy. Power forward Tom Hawkins looks back to his
best after scoring 147 points in another match winning performance while
Collingwood due Steele Sidebottom (155) and Jamie Elliot (145) were super
impressive.
Here are my captaincy selections for round 6!
Patrick Dangerfield
Dangerfield was back to his destructive best last week against the
Giants, dominating with 33 touches, five goals and an enormous 192 SC points -
he’s back! The Crows looks to be full of confidence and this week meet a side
low in that department in the Western Bulldogs; expect Dangerfield to again run
amuck at Etihad Stadium Sunday afternoon.
Paul Chapman
Bit of a unique one here with old mate Chappy, he may be a year older,
perhaps a tad slower than he once was, but the one thing you never lose is the
“big game player” tag and Chapman embodies every bit of that tag. In his first
Anzac Day clash, he will be raring to go and will thrive on the big stage as he
always does. A POD vice captain option and a smokey for the Anzac Day
medal.
Tom Rockliff
Rockliff is certainly worth a look in for your VC over in New Zealand.
He is a ball magnet and is always one to consider with his point scoring
ability. Further enhancing his credentials for this week was his performance
late last year against the Saints – racking up 39 disposals and 166 SC
points!
Josh Kennedy
Kennedy looks to be back to his 2012 form averaging 115 points a game
over the first five rounds of 2014. If JPK can find his boot a little more
frequently than last time against the Dees (where he had 4 kicks from 33
touches) he will be set for another big score.
Ablett vs Pendlebury
Ablett
Past 4 vs GWS – 164, 160, 126, 125
An average of 144 against the Giants in his four matches against the
second expansion club. Ablett is in sublime form at the moment and that doesn’t
look to be changing any time soon. A small rumour about a sore ankle floated
around earlier this week but he has been named and you too can lock him
in.
Pendlebury
Past 5 vs Essendon – 105, 136, 125, 140, 160
Pendlebury is the perfect VC loophole this week, loves the big
occasion, loves playing Essendon and loves churning out huge SuperCoach scores.
I wouldn’t think twice about whacking the VC on him this
afternoon.
