As for last week’s top scorers, it was Luke Parker, who features in this week’s skippers, with 33 touches and 151 SC points that topped the round. Jack Gunston (144) was deadly in front of goal, one of the best POD’s in 2014 Rory Sloane (143) returned another big ton while Jaeger O’Meara (143) lifted in Ablett’s absence late in the match against the Pies.
Here are my captaincy selections for this week!
Tom Liberatore
Libba was outstanding earlier this year against the Suns, racking up 137 points. No doubt he benefits from his skipper Ryan Griffen being in the side, but as long as the clearance king produces us some big tons, there will be no complaints.
Luke Parker
An unbelievably consistent year by the rising Swan. It took some time for the general media to pick up his talent and influence, but any fantasy coach worth his salt new all about his talent, but until 2014 lack of opportunity. Last week against the Eagles he recorded a season-high of 151 points, adding a ceiling to his consistency – a safe, unique option.
Nat Fyfe
What a week for Fyfe, as Ablett announced his surgery his heart must of sunk. Fyfe could well post the most Brownlow votes despite being ineligible. But that won’t stop him tearing up the Giants Sunday night! Fyfe is averaging 139 points over the past month; whack the C on him with confidence.
Jimmy Bartel
It’s no secret Jimmy loves the hallowed turf of the MCG, he has enjoyed a healthy average of 108 at the G this season and has shown he can produce some 150+ scores through the middle. He is a bit of a smokey this week against the Demons, Selwood and Johnson are slightly down, Bartel could be the man.
Pendlebury watch
Past 5 vs Essendon – 124, 105, 136, 125, 140
He is the man now! An obvious captaincy choice. Superb numbers as per usual against the opposition, the new Brownlow medal favourite will quickly become a captaincy favourite week in week out.
