Taking a look at last week’s top scorers, Rory Sloane topped the week with 172 SC points, he did it all against Brisbane, as did teammate Sam Jacobs who chimed in with 164 points. Jordan Lewis (165) was outstanding for the Hawks; Travis Boak (162) bounced back into top form with a big ton while young Giant Toby Greene (161) had the Sherrin on a string against the Roos.
Here are my captaincy selections for this week!
Joel Selwood
He may not have his partner in crime – Steve Johnson, but don’t let that put you off. Selwood is bordering on “untaggable” and the Geelong midfield has plenty of depth despite many not yet being household names. A worthwhile option for your loophole.
Robbie Gray
Against the current bottom four clubs Gray has cashed in, averaging 127 SC points in his four meetings with lowly ranked sides. The Suns without their leader Gary Ablett are struggling like no other; Gray was in fine form last week and could be a unique VC option this time around.
Tom Rockliff
The next best thing behind Gary Ablett? It has long been Pendlebury and Ablett, but this man is undoubtedly now in the same breathe. Especially his recent vein of form, in his past six outings he has delivered six centuries at an average of 145! Rocky is red-hot at the moment, and as always strongly consider him.
Nat Fyfe
Fyfe is an absolute jet, the way he attacks the ball is as good as any player in the league. Throwing himself at packs and contests is something that has caught the eye of onlookers since his debut. Capable of huge scores and a big game player, Fyfe is a great option this weekend against the Hawks.
Scott Pendlebury
Past 5 vs Brisbane – 119, 107, 108, 132, 159
Pendlebury has been consistent without a massive score to his name in recent weeks. With this in mind it may be worth looking at other options, especially in finals time. Pendlebury is always a chance for a huge score but he has a few contenders now.
