Let's have a look at the relevant players this week:
Freshmen (newbies): Guys named for their first match of their career, or guys coming back from injury who are dirt cheap.
About to burst: These fellas have played two matches this year, and if you don't jump on them this round, their price will explode. Basically just a warning signal.
Rookie watch: These guys have been in our teams from the start, but by monitoring their break-even every week it's easier to gauge when to jump off them, even if they've served you well. Remember, there's no room for sentiment in SuperCoach.
Cheapened stars: They may not have exactly 'fallen from grace', but it's not unusual for a gun to average 100 yet still see a price drop of $100,000. These guys are the perfect trade-up targets, and a smart selection here is just as important as picking the right rookie.
Taylor Adams (GWS) $136,600; FOR/MID
High draft pick, and in a team with youngsters all at the same stage as him. Not yet.
Sam Reid (GWS) $113,200; MID
You may remember him as the former Western Bulldog who was shockingly injury prone. Very tempting if he puts two good games together.
Kyal Horsley (GC) $128,700; MID
His form for the GC seconds side has been outstanding. He is a mature recruit and a ball magnet. Love to see him cement his spot in the Suns' side.
Tommy Walsh (Syd) $113,200; FOR
Again, the Irishman is named on the Swans' extended bench. Don't hold you breath though.
Jarryd Lyons (Adel) $113,200; FOR
Aaron Young (Port) $113,200; FOR
Don't be disappointed if these boys don't make the final cut.
About to burst:
James McDonald: If you haven't got Jimmy and you have Kennedy, C. Smith of Wingard in the middle, it is time to down-grade.
Adam Treloar: Treloar has been very impressive in his first two outings and his DPP certianly makes his very tempting. Make McDonald your first priority though.
Billie Smedts: Popular R1 selection Billie is back! Terrific news which will sure up a lot of benches, and possibly even save a doughnut.
Rookie Watch:
While this break-evens can't be exact due the SC's methodical and mysterious scoring system, they are an excellent indication of what your rookies need to score in order to increase in price. All of the fantasy relevant players are below.
