Collingwood v Essendon v Western Bulldogs
Friday, Feb 15, Etihad Stadium 6.45pm
COLLINGWOOD -
Squad:
2. Jordan Russell, 3. Brent Macaffer, 5. Nick Maxwell, 7. Andrew Krakouer, 8. Heritier O'Brien, 9. Martin Clarke, 10. Scott Pendlebury, 11. Jarryd Blair, 14. Clinton Young, 15. Jarrod Witts, 16. Nathan Brown, 17. Dayne Beams, 18. Darren Jolly, 19. Jamie Elliott, 20. Ben Reid, 21. Quinten Lynch, 22. Steele Sidebottom, 25. Ben Hudson, 26. Ben Johnson, 28. Ben Sinclair, 32. Travis Cloke, 36. Dane Swan, 37. Kyle Martin, 38. Peter Yagmoor, 39. Heath Shaw, 40. Paul Seedsman, 41. Sam Dwyer, 45. Jack Frost, 46. Marley Williams, 48. Caolan Mooney
Key Outs:
Luke Ball - The champion midfielder is only 300k this year after missing most of 2012 through injury, but is he back to full strength? He didn’t play in the Pies’ intra-club match and hasn’t been named for the weekend. Be very cautious with him!
Dale Thomas - Another injury concern for the Pies, he mightn’t even play round 1, he’s DPP status may be enticing but I’d cross him off the list.
Who to watch:
Dane Swan/Scott Pendlebury - Who will score better? Both similarly priced, this should show us who is the better option for 2013. Swan has apparently been killing it over the Summer and we all know how good Pendles is at SuperCoach.
Dayne Beams - He finished last year with the 4th highest average score, I’m not 100% convinced on him yet, hopefully he will impress this Friday night.
Brent Mcaffer - One of the few forward rookies worth considering, hopefully he can show some good signs in the matches.
Kyle Martin -
A terrific mature age recruit, still on the rookie list for the pies but the on-baller has enormous potential. Will find it difficult cracking in to the Collingwood side but could be a handy pick up if he does.
Jarrod Witts - This 208cm giant is one of the few rookie rucks available this season. It’ll be interesting to see how much ruck time he will get and if he is worth a spot on our benches.
ESSENDON -
Squad:
1. Michael Hibberd, 2. Tom Bellchambers, 5. Brent Stanton, 7. Leroy Jetta, 9. Brendon Goddard, 10. Nick O’Brien, 12. Stewart Crameri, 14. Jason Ashby, 15. Courtenay Dempsey, 16. Tayte Pears, 18. Michael Hurley, 19. David Hille, 20. Jackson Merrett, 21. Dyson Heppell, 22. Jake Carlisle, 23. David Myers, 24. Alex Browne, 25. Ariel Steinberg, 26. Cale Hooker, 27. Luke Davis, 28. Elliott Kavanagh, 29. Alwyn Davey, 30. Paddy Ryder, 31. Dustin Fletcher, 33. Dylan Van Unen, 34. Kyle Hardingham, 35. Martin Gleeson, 36. Lachlan Dalgleish, 38. Nick Kommer 39. Heath Hocking, 42. Nathan Lovett-Murray, 45. Hal Hunter, 46. Mark Baguley, 47. Cory Dell’Olio
Key Outs:
Jobe Watson - After suffering a slight knee scare at training the Brownlow medallist won’t play the first half of the NAB Cup but when he is back keep a close eye on his form.
Joe Daniher - We won’t see the dominant pick 10 father-son selection of 2012 on show just yet. But keep an eye out when he is named.
Who to watch:
Brendon Goddard - The best Supercoach defender of the past 4 years or so finds himself at a new club. Permanent midfielder? Lets see! He's profiled here.
Dyson Heppell - Will he push his scores up in to the 90’s this season? Looks set for more midfield action, a fantastic cheap defensive option if he can! He's profiled here.
Dylan Van Unen - Picked up from Frankston, this guy could slot straight in to the Bombers side if he can show some good form in the NAB Cup.
WESTERN BULLDOGS -
Squad:
1. Jarrad Grant, 2. Robert Murphy, 3. Mitch Wallis, 4. Daniel Cross, 5. Matthew Boyd, 6. Luke Dahlhaus, 7. Shaun Higgins, 10. Easton Wood, 11. Jack Macrae, 13. Daniel Giansiracusa, 14. Clay Smith, 15. Jason Tutt, 16. Ryan Griffen, 17. Adam Cooney, 19. Liam Jones, 20. Daniel Pearce, 21. Tom Liberatore, 22. Dylan Addison, 27. Will Minson, 29. Tory Dickson, 30. Christian Howard, 31. Tom Young, 32. Michael Talia, 33. Nick Lower, 37. Lukas Markovic, 38. Dale Morris, 39. Jason Johannisen, 42. Liam Picken, 43. Jack Redpath, 44. Brett Goodes, 45. Tom Campbell, 46. Lin Jong, 47. Mark Austin, 49. Ayce Cordy
Key Outs:
Nathan Hrovat/Jake Stringer/Koby Stevens - 3 decent rookie priced players who we unfortunately won’t get a look at just yet.
Who to watch:
Shaun Higgins - This guy has promised to explode for years now. He’s apparently been tearing up the track in his best preseason yet. Will he reach his potential this year? Could be a great pick up if he does, but I’d need to see a dominant NAB Cup campaign before I’m convinced.
Brett Goodes - In many sides is the mature age DEF/MID, looks to be in the dogs 22 from the get go, it’ll be great to see how he performs in the big league.
Nick Lower - At $379,500, the former Fremantle midfielder is at a difficult price, but he’s got plenty of potential and will see more midfield time in the doggies side. He’s a smokie that is worth considering. He scored 101, 66 and 99 from his 3 games in an injury-plagued 2012 season. He's profiled here.
West Coast v Fremantle v Geelong
Saturday, Feb 16, Patersons Stadium 4:40pm
WEST COAST -
Squad:
1. Mitchell Brown, 2. Mark LeCras , 3. Andrew Gaff, 7. Chris Masten, 8. Beau Waters, 10. Scott Selwood, 11. Matt Priddis, 12. Sharrod Wellingham , 13. Luke Shuey, 14, Jacob Brennan, 15. Jamie Cripps, 16. Eric Mackenzie, 17. Josh Kennedy, 18. Bradd Dalziell, 19. Adam Carter, 22. Callum Sinclair, 23. Darren Glass, 25. Shannon Hurn, 26. Sam Butler, 27. Jack Darling, 28. Ashley Smith, 29. Scott Lycett, 30. Blayne Wilson, 31. Will Schofield, 32. Andrew Embley, 33. Josh Hill, 34. Mark Hutchings, 35. Patrick McGinnity, 36. Fraser McInnes, 37. Adam Selwood, 40. Cale Morton, 42. Jeremy McGovern, 43. Ashton Hams, 46. Simon Tunbridge
Key Outs:
Nic Naitanui - Naitanui will miss the entire NAB cup while he continues to recover from off-season groin surgery. The young west coast ruckman is being kept under the watchful eye of the West Coast fitness staff, although has recently ramped up his running load which is a good sign.
Dean Cox - Nic Nat’s running mate Dean Cox has also run into a bit of injury strife in the past week after dislocating his finger at training. The club says it’s only a minor setback and he should be ready for round one, he may even have a run in the NAB cup at some point.
Who To Watch:
Matt Priddis - Can he keep his stellar form of the last few seasons up this year? The answer has to be yes. He’s a genuine ball winner could be a good POD.
Mark LeCras - Had a consistent season in 2011 averaging 86, after tearing his ACL in the pre-season he didn’t play a game in 2012. He could be a good mid price option, although not sure if he will be right this year, one to watch.
Josh Kennedy - Missed a fair chunk of 2012 with a foot injury, playing only 7 games and in those seven games only averaging 56 after averaging 86 in 2011. Has the potential to explode and is a good mid-price option, Saturday will give us more of an indication of his potential this year.
Andrew Embley - Turns 32 this year and is a big injury risk, although there is some upside, he has been tearing up the track and is only 284k, watch.
Mark Hutchings - Not many know this young man’s name, he won West Perth’s B&F last season and finished runner up in the Sandover medal. He’s a potential cash cow and one to keep an eye on.
GEELONG -
Squad:
1. Mitch Brown, 2. Billie Smedts, 3. Jimmy Bartel, 5. Travis Varcoe, 7. Harry Taylor, 11. Joel Corey, 12. Trent West, 13. Tom Lonergan, 14. Joel Selwood, 15. Jordan Schroder, 19. Taylor Hunt, 20. Steve Johnson, 21. Jordan Murdoch, 22. Mitch Duncan, 23. Josh Caddy, 25. Jared Rivers, 26. Tom Hawkins, 27. Mathew Stokes, 28. Allen Christensen, 29. Cameron Guthrie , 31. James Podsiadly, 32. Steven Motlop, 33. George Horlin-Smith, 34. Josh Walker, 36. Brad Hartman, 37. Cam Eardley, 38. Jackson Sheringham, 39. Shane Kersten, 40. Jackson Thurlow, 41. Jesse Stringer, 42. Ryan Bathie , 44. Corey Enright, 45. Joel Hamling, 46. Mark Blicavs
Key Outs:
Hamish McIntosh - Had minor surgery on his knee the past week, and will miss all of the NAB Cup but could possibly be ready for round 1 but most likely round 2 or 3. Could have been a POD if he got through the pre-season unscathed although with this latest injury he is too much of a risk for mine.
Who to Watch:
Joel Selwood - This bloke continues to deliver year in year out although it is sometimes overshadowed by his competitors. He’s an absolute gun and definitely worth considering.
Jimmy Bartel - Jimmy is now a DPP, so its worth having a look at him, although his scores have been steadily declining over the past few years still a good POD.
Tom Hawkins - He exploded last year averaging 27 points more than he did in 2011. Has the potential to go to another level this year and continue to dominate the competition; one to keep an eye on.
Travis Varcoe - Has been given the Yarran type half back running role by Scotty in the pre-season, is a very cheap 267k. If fit he’s a lock - also is a DPP. He's profiled here.
FREMANTLE -
Squad:
1. Hayden Ballantyne, 3. Zac Dawson, 4. Jayden Pitt, 5. Garrick Ibbotson
6. Danyle Pearce, 8. Nick Suban, 9. Matt de Boer, 10. Michael Walters, 11. Tom Sheridan, 12. Jonathon Griffin, 13. Tendai Mzungu, 17. Hayden Crozier, 18. Luke McPharlin, 21. Michael Barlow, 22. Tanner Smith, 23. Chris Mayne, 25. Josh Mellington, 26. Kepler Bradley, 28. Peter Faulks, 31. Aaron Sandilands, 32. Stephen Hill, 33. Cameron Sutcliffe, 34. Lee Spurr, 35. Haiden Schloithe, 36. Alex Silvagni, 37. Michael Johnson, 38. Jack Hannath, 39. Sam Menegola, 41. Paul Duffield, 44. Jesse Crichton, 46. Clancee Pearce
Key Outs:
Matthew Pavlich - Will miss the first NAB cup game after having Achilles tendon surgery at the end of last season and undergoing a back operation. Should play in the Dockers second or third nab cup game in the coming weeks, he’s a jet, one to consider.
Nat Fyfe - Missed 12 weeks with a shoulder injury last year, returned in Rd 18 and averaged 24 possessions, 13 of which were contested. He’s an out and out gun and is a steal at 495k!
Who to Watch:
Aaron Sandilands - He could be the best ruckman in the AFL, and could possibly top the Supercoach scoring charts at the end of the year. He’s a lock if fit.
Paul Duffield - Bounced back from an ordinary 2011, averaging 93 in 2012. He finished the season strong scoring over 100 in six of his last seven games and is a good option at just a tick under 500k. Watch. He's profiled here.
Matthew Barlow - Played in all 22 games last season and averaged 95 just a year after that horrific leg injury. This year you would expect him to take his game to another level, should perform this week, if he dominates seriously consider.
Adelaide v Port Adelaide v St Kilda
Sunday, Feb 17, AAMI Stadium 4:10pm
ADELAIDE -
Squad:
1. Richard Tambling, 2. Brad Crouch, 4. Josh Jenkins, 6. Luke Thompson, 8. Lewis Johnston, 10. Matthew Jaensch, 11. Matthew Wright, 12. Daniel Talia, 14. David Mackay, 15. Angus Graham, 16. Luke Brown, 18. Graham Johncock, 20. Sam Siggins, 21. Rory Atkins, 22. Andy Otten, 26. Richard Douglas, 27. Tom Lynch, 28. Cam Ellis-Yolmen, 29. Sam Kerridge, 31. Jarryd Lyons, 33. Brodie Smith, 35. Shaun McKernan, 36. Brodie Martin, 37. Ian Callinan, 38. Mitch Grigg, 41. Kyle Hartigan, 43. Aidan Riley, 45. Ricky Henderson, 46. Rory Laird, 48. Dylan Orval , 49. Tim McIntyre
Key Outs:
Patrick Dangerfield – After a breakout season, it seems Patty may be Point Of Difference this year with very few coaches opting to pick him in their midfield. Finished with the 4th highest total in SuperCoach last year- if he can replicate that in 2013 he is a lock! May be rested until round one.
Who to watch:
Brad Crouch – Adelaide’s prized youngster has shown the reason behind his hype in intraclub matches. Gets his first run against an AFL team this week. Crouch is a must have rookie midfielder for our SuperCoach teams; Sando loves him but may get the green vest in the H&A season.
Matthew Wright – Cheap premium set for a breakout season. Watch him closely, should step up in a young side. Can be chosen in MID or FWD, which makes him a very juicy smoky.
Sam Kerrige – FWD rookie that may get his chance this season after only one game as the sub last year. Finished off 2013 in the SANFL and averaged 21 touches over his last eight games.
PORT ADELAIDE -
Squad:
1. Travis Boak, 3. Campbell Heath, 5. Matthew Broadbent, 6. Angus Monfries, 7. Brad Ebert, 8. Hamish Hartlett, 12. Jackson Trengove, 13. Cameron O’Shea, 14. Paul Stewart, 15. Lewis Stevenson, 16. Oliver Wines, 17. Tom Clurey, 18. Kane Cornes , 20. Chad Wingard, 21. Matt Thomas, 22. Mason Shaw, 24. Nathan Blee, 26. Andrew Moore, 27. Alipate Carlile, 28. Jay Schulz, 29. Jasper Pittard, 30. Sam Colquhoun, 31. Darren Pfeiffer, 32. Jake Neade, 33. Brett Ebert, 34. Jarrad Redden, 36. Jack Hombsch, 37. Kane Mitchell, 38. Ben Newton, 39. Justin Westhoff, 40. Aaron Young, 41. Brendon Ah Chee, 42. Tom Jonas, 43. Daniel Stewart, 46. Justin Hoskin
Key Outs:
Dom Cassisi – Hasn’t ever really been fantasy relevant, but it will be interesting to see how Port operate in their first game without their ex-captain.
Who to watch:
Hamish Hartlett – Has come into many coach’s calculations this year due to his DPP status. Port Adelaide B&F in 2011 and despite a few hamstring problems, still averaged 92 last year. Be cautious when considering, could potentially burn coaches.
Angus Monfries – If he gets consistent midfield time, he could be a good POD pick, and at only $356k he could be a steal. Watch closely.
Ollie Wines - Averaged 137 in the NAB U18 Championships, second only to Lachie Whitfield, and 145 in the TAC cup last year. Could be a regular in Port’s best 22. Only concern is his price, but he is still $30k cheaper than Whitfield. Has had a ripper preseason.
Sam Colquhoun/Jasper Pittard/Kane Mitchell - Nearly everyone has at least one of these SuperCoach rookies in their team. In a struggling Port outfit any one of these guys could get consistent games.
ST KILDA -
Squad:
1. Tom Hickey, 2. Arryn Siposs, 3. Jack Steven, 4. Clint Jones, 5. Ben McEvoy, 6. Sebastian Ross, 8. Trent Dennis-Lane, 9. Tom Lee, 11. Leigh Montagna, 14. Jarryn Geary, 15. Tom Ledger, 16. Jack Newnes, 17. Dylan Roberton, 19. Sam Gilbert, 20. David Armitage, 21. Ahmed Saad, 22. Farren Ray, 23. Justin Koschitzke, 26. Nick Dal Santo, 27. Jason Blake, 29. Jimmy Webster, 30. Brodie Murdoch, 32. Terry Milera, 33. James Gwilt, 34. Nathan Wright, 35. Josh Saunders, 36. Jay Lever, 37. Beau Maister, 38. Sam Dunell, 39. Cameron Shenton, 40. Jordan Staley, 43.Tom Curren, 44. Stephen Milne, 45. Jackson Ferguson
Key Outs:
Nick Riewoldt - Without their captain roaming around in the FWD line, the rest of the Saints’ forwards will need to step up.
Who to watch:
Tom Hickey – Dominated in the intraclub game, matched up against McEvoy. Will play a lot of games this season to ease McEvoy’s workload. Would be a lock if not for his awkward price.
Aaron Siposs – Looks like slotting into Goddard’s vacant role with his strong mark and long kick, and will record career highs if he does. Half backs have always been known to score well in SuperCoach. Has the ability to average 80+, and at only 316k he should be on your watchlist.
Tom Lee – Disappointing in the intraclub, but the Saints will be relying on the mature aged FWD to play many games this season. At 22 years old, and with a large body, Lee is physically ready to play at AFL level.
ESSENDON -
Squad:

Nathan Lovett-Murray, 45. Hal Hunter, 46. Mark Baguley, 47. Cory Dell’Olio
Key Outs:
Jobe Watson - After suffering a slight knee scare at training the Brownlow medallist won’t play the first half of the NAB Cup but when he is back keep a close eye on his form.
Joe Daniher - We won’t see the dominant pick 10 father-son selection of 2012 on show just yet. But keep an eye out when he is named.

Luke Brown, 18. Graham Johncock, 20. Sam Siggins, 21. Rory Atkins, 22. Andy Otten, 26. Richard Douglas, 27. Tom Lynch, 28. Cam Ellis-Yolmen, 29. Sam Kerridge, 31. Jarryd Lyons, 33. Brodie Smith, 35. Shaun McKernan, 36. Brodie Martin, 37. Ian Callinan, 38. Mitch Grigg, 41. Kyle Hartigan, 43. Aidan Riley, 45. Ricky Henderson, 46. Rory Laird, 48. Dylan Orval , 49. Tim McIntyre
Key Outs:
Patrick Dangerfield – After a breakout season, it seems Patty may be Point Of Difference this year with very few coaches opting to pick him in their midfield. Finished with the 4th highest total in SuperCoach last year- if he can replicate that in 2013 he is a lock! May be rested until round one.
Who to watch:
Brad Crouch – Adelaide’s prized youngster has shown the reason behind his hype in intraclub matches. Gets his first run against an AFL team this week. Crouch is a must have rookie midfielder for our SuperCoach teams; Sando loves him but may get the green vest in the H&A season.
Matthew Wright – Cheap premium set for a breakout season. Watch him closely, should step up in a young side. Can be chosen in MID or FWD, which makes him a very juicy smoky.
Sam Kerrige – FWD rookie that may get his chance this season after only one game as the sub last year. Finished off 2013 in the SANFL and averaged 21 touches over his last eight games.
PORT ADELAIDE -
Squad:
1. Travis Boak, 3. Campbell Heath, 5. Matthew Broadbent, 6. Angus Monfries, 7. Brad Ebert, 8. Hamish Hartlett, 12. Jackson Trengove, 13. Cameron O’Shea, 14. Paul Stewart, 15. Lewis Stevenson, 16. Oliver Wines, 17. Tom Clurey, 18. Kane Cornes , 20. Chad Wingard, 21. Matt Thomas, 22. Mason Shaw, 24. Nathan Blee, 26. Andrew Moore, 27. Alipate Carlile, 28. Jay Schulz, 29. Jasper Pittard, 30. Sam Colquhoun, 31. Darren Pfeiffer, 32. Jake Neade, 33. Brett Ebert, 34. Jarrad Redden, 36. Jack Hombsch, 37. Kane Mitchell, 38. Ben Newton, 39. Justin Westhoff, 40. Aaron Young, 41. Brendon Ah Chee, 42. Tom Jonas, 43. Daniel Stewart, 46. Justin Hoskin
Key Outs:
Dom Cassisi – Hasn’t ever really been fantasy relevant, but it will be interesting to see how Port operate in their first game without their ex-captain.
Who to watch:
Hamish Hartlett – Has come into many coach’s calculations this year due to his DPP status. Port Adelaide B&F in 2011 and despite a few hamstring problems, still averaged 92 last year. Be cautious when considering, could potentially burn coaches.
Angus Monfries – If he gets consistent midfield time, he could be a good POD pick, and at only $356k he could be a steal. Watch closely.
Ollie Wines - Averaged 137 in the NAB U18 Championships, second only to Lachie Whitfield, and 145 in the TAC cup last year. Could be a regular in Port’s best 22. Only concern is his price, but he is still $30k cheaper than Whitfield. Has had a ripper preseason.
Sam Colquhoun/Jasper Pittard/Kane Mitchell - Nearly everyone has at least one of these SuperCoach rookies in their team. In a struggling Port outfit any one of these guys could get consistent games.
ST KILDA -
Squad:
1. Tom Hickey, 2. Arryn Siposs, 3. Jack Steven, 4. Clint Jones, 5. Ben McEvoy, 6. Sebastian Ross, 8. Trent Dennis-Lane, 9. Tom Lee, 11. Leigh Montagna, 14. Jarryn Geary, 15. Tom Ledger, 16. Jack Newnes, 17. Dylan Roberton, 19. Sam Gilbert, 20. David Armitage, 21. Ahmed Saad, 22. Farren Ray, 23. Justin Koschitzke, 26. Nick Dal Santo, 27. Jason Blake, 29. Jimmy Webster, 30. Brodie Murdoch, 32. Terry Milera, 33. James Gwilt, 34. Nathan Wright, 35. Josh Saunders, 36. Jay Lever, 37. Beau Maister, 38. Sam Dunell, 39. Cameron Shenton, 40. Jordan Staley, 43.Tom Curren, 44. Stephen Milne, 45. Jackson Ferguson
Key Outs:
Nick Riewoldt - Without their captain roaming around in the FWD line, the rest of the Saints’ forwards will need to step up.
Who to watch:
Tom Hickey – Dominated in the intraclub game, matched up against McEvoy. Will play a lot of games this season to ease McEvoy’s workload. Would be a lock if not for his awkward price.
Aaron Siposs – Looks like slotting into Goddard’s vacant role with his strong mark and long kick, and will record career highs if he does. Half backs have always been known to score well in SuperCoach. Has the ability to average 80+, and at only 316k he should be on your watchlist.
Tom Lee – Disappointing in the intraclub, but the Saints will be relying on the mature aged FWD to play many games this season. At 22 years old, and with a large body, Lee is physically ready to play at AFL level.
