Well, can you believe it – trade winds is almost non-existent this week. Last weekend produced almost no injuries of note – other than another Collingwood defender biting the dust, the rest were very minor and not even worth talking about. With the bye rounds on the horizon, perhaps it’s time to pack away the trade equipment for this week?
Lachlan KEEFFE (Collingwood. Value - $276,400. Av 56. Knee reco – out for the season)
Another Collingwood defender to fall to the injury curse, KEEFFE has been a bit of a surprise packet in 2012. Named as a forward in SC but never playing there, KEEFFE has been fairly handy in the back-half for the Pies, particularly in light of the players they have been losing to injury. Initially it seemed he might not hold his spot, but he managed every game up until last weekend, when he season came to an abrupt end. Selected in only 1% of teams, KEEFFE averaged 56 pts a game – and if he is in your side, he has to go.
Possibilities : Andrew McQUALTER (GC) - $246,100 Av 87
Ahmad SAAD (St.K) - $221,600 Av 66 My Choice–Cash and Some Security
Darren PFEIFFER (Port) - $220,700 Av 59
Lynden DUNN (Melb) - $216,400 Av 35
Dayne ZORKO (Bris) - $170,500 Av 66
Well, that’s it. Unbelievable I know. Other minor injuries to Brad GREEN (Surely no one in SC has him – even the self-populating teams wouldn’t select GREEN!), Israel FOLAU (Not far off being in the same boat as GREEN) , Simon BLACK (Still a possibility to play) and Tom HAWKINS (said to only be missing a week, but time will tell) are not really worth talking about trading, especially given that the bye rounds are just around the corner and trades will become a premium commodity after that. So, just relax this week – make up and down grade trades if you need to, but otherwise just hold tight – as we all know, the ride will get quite a bit bumpier from here.
