Simon BLACK (Brisbane - Value $507,600. Av 118. Broken hand – out 4 weeks)
In only 1.15% of teams, the old-timer of the Brisbane midfield - silky smooth Simon BLACK - has been in some strong early form with the Lions, averaging 118 pts in the first two matches
Possibilities - Andrew CARRAZZO (Carl) - $505,800 Av 104
Hamish HARTLETT (Port) - $499,800 Av 109
David ZAHARAKIS (Ess) - $494,100 Av 103
My Choice – GC this week!
Callan WARD (GWS) - $483,000 Av 111
Rory SLOANE (Adel) - $478,900 Av 107
Andrew EMBLEY (West Coast – Value $519,900. Av 24. Shoulder injury – out 3 to 4 months)
The Eagles injury curse continues in 2012, with under-performing midfielder EMBLEY doing his shoulder in the slaughter against the Demons. The outlook is very ordinary, with EMBLEY set to miss 12 to 16 weeks – something that would only frustrate his owners even more, on top of the paltry scores of 30 and 19 in the first two rounds. A quality player not fancied in the SC world, he simply has to be traded.
Possibilities - Daniel CROSS (WBD) - $519,400 Av 110
Luke SHUEY (WCE) - $513,000 Av 110
Kade SIMPSON (Carl) - $512,300 Av 112 My Choice – A ball magnet
Hamish HARTLETT (Port) - $499,800 Av 109
David ZAHARAKIS (Ess) - $494,100 Av 103
Jake KING (Richmond – Value $352,700. Av 17. PCL injury – out for 6 weeks)
Not the greatest start in 2012 for the “Push-Up King”, the Tiger antagoniser was back for his first match last weekend and only managed 13 points before injuring his knee – a blow that will see him sidelined for at least 6 weeks. Surprisingly selected in almost 2% of SC teams, those owners will be forced to trade him now – and rue the decision of picking him in the first place.
Possibilities - Josh HILL (WCE) - $349,200 Av 88
Sam REID (Syd) - $339,700 Av 94
My Choice – Great contested mark
Taylor WALKER (Adel) - $338,600 Av 104
Jason PORPLYZIA (Adel) - $229,600 Av 83
Rhys STANLEY (StK) - $176,200 Av 90
That’s it for this week – short and sweet, which is always a good thing.
Hopefully it stays that way throughout the year. There has been lots of talk about trading this week, before prices fluctuate, but remember – every year, come the end of the season, you are wishing you had more trades up your sleeve. My advice is don’t impulse trade, especially at this time of the year. Hold on to your guns, have faith in your rookies that are playing. Of course, there are exceptions – James MAGNER being the big one this year. If you haven’t got him, get him now. Otherwise, try and resist!
