Dayne Beams, Collingwood Magpies - $412,900
I don't think any of us will disagree that Dayne Beams has been a good player for Collingwood for the last two years. Even less of us will say that he will keep improving.
He is entering his third year with the Magpies, and he is 21 years old. For his career so far the graphs and numbers are where you would expect them to be, on the way up.
In 2009, he averaged 18 disposals per match in his first AFL season. Impressive. The year after, he averaged 20 disposals per game.
As a result, his SC numbers follow a similar pattern: An average of 76 in '09, and average of 85 in '10.
So if his numbers continue this upward trend, could he be averaging in the 90's this season? Possibly more?
He must improve his accuracy in front of goal, as he is missing way too many goals at a conversion rate of 45%.
Even though he seems quite pricey, he is in a successful side and into his third year - all signs point to a breakout year. If he starts off hot, he could be a real bargain.
