Okay, it’s coming in to Round 4 of the season and our SC teams are starting to show what they are capable of – as are our players. There has been one guy who is playing his trade down at Sleepy Hollow who has somehow avoided the hoo-hah, but the time has come for that to change.
You see, last weekend I watched the Geelong Vs Collingwood game on the box, and I saw two incidents that really disturbed me. These incidents both involved the same player and both occurred within about a minute of each other.
You know what I’m talking about don’t you Josh Caddy? Perhaps we’ve come to expect too much from the tightly run Geelong football team, but to see a guy ‘panic-handball’ to no-one twice within a minute or two like you did last weekend was unforgiveable! It’s so un-Geelong like, it stood out like dogs nuts. Where’s the composure under pressure, picking the right option more often than not? Nowhere to be seen with you mate.

How the hell did we get sucked into wasting $325,000 of our precious salary cap on you? Jeepers we were sucked in by your pre-season weren’t we? You were the talk of the Supercoach world, and the fact that you were primed for a breakout season swept through the SC community like wildfire. And, like the sheep we are, 32% of us jumped on board – and so far, with scores of 81, 71 and 53, you’ve risen in price a massive $4,500 with a sterling average of 68 pts per game. WOW.
I’m amazed that we didn’t notice prior to round one that your disposal efficiency makes Clinton Jones look gifted by hand and foot. In round one you had twenty disposals – 10 kicks and 10 handballs – along with 5 marks, 4 tackles and a goal. Sounds impressive, but you still only managed 81 points! WTF? How the hell does that happen – and if that’s the case, how on earth are you ever going to score more than that? With only one game in your 41 match career over 100 points, we should’ve seen the writing on the wall.
Sure, they call you the Bull and you’re supposedly tough in the clinches, but that doesn’t get us points now does it? The thing that really worries me is that you’ve already played two teams who are really struggling – in Adelaide and Brisbane – and still you haven’t scored well. The next seven weeks you come up against West Coast, Hawthorn, Port, Richmond, Fremantle, North Melbourne and Sydney. That’s a pretty tough run – and it makes my finger hover even more over the trade button my friend.
It could be the last chance stakes this weekend Caddy. They say you like the wet – well it will certainly be that on Saturday night at Geelong . With an injury-ravaged Eagles lineup, I expect you to find plenty of the pill. Just make sure you find someone in the blue and white hoops to give it to, not the other mob okay?
You need to lift young fella. Big time.
