Port Adelaide V Carlton
Matthew Watson (Carl): 9 disp, 7 kicks V Port
Watson played a few matches last year and the booming kick could be a steal if he can manage some more time in the firsts.
After the second week of the NAB Cup's triangular games, I've identified some of the players who surprised a bit, showed a bit, or those who could genuinely break it open this year.

_GWS this, GWS that. Everyone is talking about the West Sydney youngsters, but what about the other teams. Their new players could be just as important. Here is the 2011 Draft's top 10, minus those West Sydney snatchers.
Pick 6 - Chad Wingard (Port) Wingard is a mid-size left footer and an excellent fit for Port. Expect to see him play plenty of games in the developing Port Adelaide side, so even though he'll cost a bit, it will be worth it. Not a huge ball winner but loves to sneak forward and kick a goal. Only available as a midfielder. Price: $171,600 Pick 8 - Billy Longer (Bris) Brisbane chose to grab a young ruckman and Billy Longer will be a great ruckman; he loves Say 'goodbye' to Before the Bounce, this year I'll be focusing on this little segment here - The Rookie Ramp.
TRR will be a wrap late in the week of which cheap players are debuting, which players are about to play their 3rd game, which mature aged rookies to jump on, who out of the GWS bunch you should get and later in the year who are the guns who have dropped in price. Not only that but for those 'cash cows' that have made you money, I'll have all the break-even scores on hand so that you know the right time to offload and take the cash. I'm looking forward to 2012 Kooky. |
