Hamish HARTLETT Port Adelaide
The ever-improving Port utility Hamish HARTLETT has been steady without being spectacular
Brett DELEDIO Richmond
‘Lids’ is in outstanding form, averaging 123 pts per game this year and backing up from a stunning 157 pts last round against the red-hot Bombers. The Tiger onballer takes on the Hawks this weekend, a team against which he averages 110 pts against over his career. Not too bad, especially when you take into account he scored a measly 58 against them in 2011! In 2010 he belted out 144, and in 2009 a massive 163 against the Hawkers. Not too left-field, Deledio could be just the choice to get you over the line.
Sam MITCHELL Hawthorn
In the same game, Hawk dynamo MITCHELL looks to regain some form against the Tigers, who he has averaged a brilliant 130 pts against in recent times. Although he has been struggling a little with an average 109 pts in games of 2012 so far, MITCHELL’s last three scores against Richmond at the MCG put him right back into consideration as your captain – 146 in 2010, 128 in 2009 and 131 in 2007. They are pretty good figures whichever way you look at it.
The other big consideration for captain material this week is any Essendon player, given they take on GWS. The deadly duo of STANTON and WATSON must seriously be considered – they should come up with massive totals in a huge win. In addition, it’s interesting to note GAZZA only averages 120 pts per game against the Power – despite scoring 206 against them in 2009!!
