There will be plenty of discounted and very tempting players for SuperCoach 2013, and Matt will assess each position for the best value.
Here the best bargain midfielders have been profiled so you know who to look out for over the pre-season.
Luke Ball
2013 Price: $230-280k
2012 Games: 3
2012 Ave: 62
2011 Games: 21
2011 Ave: 97
Ball has been a Supercoach gun for the last 7 years averaging 116, 93, 86, 99, 86, 89 and 97 a season since 2005. But in 2012 Ball's season was cut short with a horrific knee injury which saw him play only the first 2 and a half games at an average of 62. This means Ball will be cheap next year and so far it looks like his recovery is

going fine. If he is under $280k and can get a full per season under his belt, Ball could be the Lenny Hayes of 2013 and get back to playing his best football!
2013 Supercoach Point Average Prediction: 80-85
Xavier Ellis
2013 Price: $220k
2012 Games: 3
2012 Ave: 59
2011 Games: 8
2011 Ave: 79
Ellis has struggled with injuries for his whole career and particularly over the last 2 years only playing 11 out of 44 games. Ellis was coming off his best Supercoach season last year averaging 79 but, at the same time, only played eight games. If Ellis can not get injured and play all 22 games, then he is someone to watch for next season. For years now we have been waiting for the number three draft pick to have a break out year, and hopefully 2013 could be his year. If Ellis has a strong pre season, his price and possible midfield/defence DPP makes him very tempting.
2013 Supercoach Point Average Prediction: 75-80
Andrew Embley
2013 Price: $250k
2012 Games: 6
2012 Ave: 53
2011 Games: 21
2011 Ave: 95
Embley had a shocking 2012 season playing only the six games for a average of 53, which was his worst season ever. The first three matches Embley played were all sub affected. and he averaged a paltry 28. But his next three games where a lot better averaging 77 and then in West Coasts 2 finals, Embley continued to score well with 116 and 87. Embley has shown us in the past he is a good Supercoach scorer with 4 season averages of 90+. Embley will be turning 32 next year and even though he won't be a premium, he can be a good cash cow and make you some cash to turn into a premium later in the year.
2013 Supercoach Point Average Prediction: 70-75
Jason Winderlich
2013 Price: $215k
2012 Games: 2
2012 Ave: 57
2011 Games: 4
2011 Ave: 55
2012 was the second year in a row that injuries have wrecked Winderlich's season. He has played only 6 games in the last two years, proving he is very injury prone, which is a worry. But Winderlich showed in 2009 and 2010 that when he gets out on the park he can score well averaging 96 from 18 games and 87 from 19 games in that two year period. Winderlich is pretty cheap and with a midfield/forward DPP he is someone to watch over the pre-season. If Winderlich plays all 22 games then he will be a great pick up.
2013 Supercoach Point Average Prediction: 70-75
Brent Prismall
2013 Price: $150k
2012 Games: 0
2012 Ave: 0
2011 Games: 8
2011 Ave: 56
Durability is the main issue with Prismall as he has played only 51 games out of the possible 132 since his debut. But when Prismall is out there on the field he scores well averaging 70, 79, 87 and 84 from 2007-10. If Prismall can recover from his injury troubles and have a strong pre season then he is someone to keep an eye on at $150k.
2013 Supercoach Point Average Prediction: 70-75
Jordan Gysberts
2013 Price: $120-150k
2012 Games: 1
2012 Ave: 28
2011 Games: 15
2011 Ave: 75
Gysberts only played the one match for Melbourne in 2012 for a 28 point return. But Gysberts showed last year he can be a quality Supercoach scorer averaging 75 which included 4 big scores of 90+. Also in 2010 Gysberts scored 94 and 84 in his first 2 AFL games looking like he could be a future Supercoach gun. With another pre-season under his belt and his extremely cheap price, Gysberts is someone to watch over the summer.
