Angus Monfries
2012 games: 18 2012 average: 66.7 2013 club: Port Adelaide
Monfries managed a massive 136 against the Power in round two this year, but for one reason or another, didn't hit triple figures again all year.
It was overall a very disappointing season for Monfires, and overall he dropped $191,600 in price, and played only one match between rounds 12 and 16.
Monfries averaged a career-best 83 points per game last year with a slight increase in midfield time the reason, but Hird hardly used him in the centre in 2012. He prefered him as a defensive forward as 'forward pressure' was a buzz-word for the season.
The Power were rapped to snatch him for only pick 48, and Power management have hinted that Monfires might spend quite a fair chuck in the midfield. If the pre-season matches indicate this, a fairly cheap and reborn Monfries could be one of the buys of the year, a-la Brad Ebert.
