Stephen Gilham
2012 games: 6
2012 average: 52.2
2013 club: Western Sydney
Make no mistake, from 2007 Gilham was one of Hawthorn's first picked players. Always reliable and measly with what he would give away, it's easy to forget that Gilham was a first round draft pick in 2002. Now the 28 year old adds experience and a mature body to the developing Giants' defence.
While many argue Gilham's 2011 knee-injury has ruined his career, GWS will believe that with a strong pre-season he can get back to his absolute best at shutting down opposition key forwards.
In SuperCoach, he averaged 73 in 2009 and 70 in 2010, which is certainly about his limit. If the pricing system stays the same as last year, he'll be priced about $290k, which is pretty pricey for a player of his style. Yes, he is almost guaranteed a game next year, but can he rise enough in price to make it worthwhile? Probably not.
