Hey SuperCoaches,
Welcome back for my final POD selection of the season. I have given a write up to the main POD, but I have recommended two others as well. I have made it through to one grand final out of my 4 leagues. I was in the top 8 of 4 leagues and had a horrid run and low trades moving through the finals. Last week I had two zeros in my backline and then Cooney was a late withdrawal which gave me 3 zeros, but I still managed a win and a score of 2223. Part of this was due to my decision to play Steve Johnson (134 points) as captain instead of Ablett. Selwood was my other option and he would have been just as handy. The captain choice, with Ablett not being a lock lately, is always an interesting one and something I have discussions about on Twitter leading into the round. I apologise for the inconvenience if you jumped on Cooney after my POD article last week and he was a late withdrawal for you. That was just coincidence and I had not heard anything about him being a possible withdrawal.
All the best for the grand finals and thanks for reading these articles over the past few months!
I hope my POD choice can help you in some way or another J Enjoy the read and feel free to leave a comment or hit me up on Twitter at @AaronSCAdvice.

Dayne Beams (COLL) - Midfielder
Price: $566,400 (b/e +146)
Selected In: 2.68%
Games: 6 Average: 109.50
Grand Final Projection: 116 points
The SuperCoach star from last year has come back at the end of 2013, averaging 109.50 so far. If you excuse the 88 in his comeback game, then he has averaged 113 points. He missed last week’s game, but he is named in this week’s squad of 25 on the extended bench, although I can’t see any reason why he would not be in the final 22 unless he is subject to a fitness test; just wait until 5pm tomorrow for the final teams before making the trade. All the numbers fall into the ‘get on Dayne Beams’ category. He averages 95 against North Melbourne over his career and averages 95 at the MCG over his whole career also. His recent form against North Melbourne is also superb; 166 and 102. Since he has returned his has scored tons in 3 out of his 6 games and two of the other games were close (both 96). He has missed a lot of footy so he will be raring to go! I don’t know how much chance there is of him being a sub or subbed off, but considering he wasn’t sub in his first game of the season, I doubt he would be this week, particularly after a week off. Such a gun player should not be in 2.68% of SuperCoach teams; people will be concerned about getting him in. I say that you shouldn’t be. It is entirely up to you, but this guy could be the genuine x-factor and top scoring player in your side this week! He has the ability to rack up 30+ touches, snag a few goals and score 130+ SuperCoach points!
Three other solid POD selections for the SuperCoach Grand Final weekend:
Jed Adcock (WBD) - Defender
Had a slow start in the first two rounds but he has since become more consistent. More importantly his last 5 rounds have been excellent. Great option if your defence needs a hole filled.
Jordan Lewis (HAW) - Forward
Had an ok start, but really turned it on during rounds 8-10. He then became a little inconsistent but has been great over the past 6 rounds. I also like that he averages 98.80 against Sydney over 10 matches. This is his 3rd best average against a side (excluding the expansion sides). Only ahead of that 98.80 average is his efforts against Melbourne (106.38) and West Coast (99).
Scott Selwood (WCE) - Midfielder
This guy is as hard as nails! I love watching him play and getting the hard ball. He has it all, he knows how to rack up the tackles and touches, gets loads of free kicks and can sneak forward for a goal. Has had a great season, despite averaging only 102. He has had some below par scores of 80s and 90s, but he has also shown that he can go big. His last two weeks he’s produced 119 and 103, so he is in reasonable form.
