Hey SuperCoaches,
I have successfully made finals in 4/5 of my leagues, even finishing as high as 3rd in one, after a terrible start. The only league that I did not make finals in I finished 11th and only 4 points off 8th place.
(image from theaustralian.com.au) I have successfully made finals in 4/5 of my leagues, even finishing as high as 3rd in one, after a terrible start. The only league that I did not make finals in I finished 11th and only 4 points off 8th place.
The interesting part to this is that the week before I had lost by 9pts (after being equal pre-scaling) and also in the bye rounds I lost one game by 2pts and one by 23pts. So I was effectively 34pts off gaining 12pts! All I needed was one of those wins to make the 8. Ah well, there’s always next year for that league.
As the finals progress I will bring you the best POD player I can find that I have not written about yet. There are still plenty of gems out there. My track record is looking better and better with Steven and Enright scoring well, as well as Libba and Montagna last week. Continue to follow my Twitter as I am always more than happy to offer advice, and don’t forget to let your mates know about me if they're after some advice or reassurance!!

Steele Sidebottom (COLL) - Midfielder
Price: $516,300 (b/e +33)
Selected In: 3.11%
Games: 18 Average: 104.44
3 Round Projection: 111pt average
Steele Sidebottom has turned it on over the past two weeks and at this stage of the SuperCoach season it’s the most important thing to look at. He was a match winner last week against Essendon, scoring 132 and also 155 against GWS the week before hand. He had 30 touches, 11 marks and 1.0 in one of those games and 31 touches, 8 marks and 3.0 in the other. Early on in the year, he showed his x-factor ability but without any consistency. Check out these for his first 7 rounds: 116, 131, 39, 136, 136, 41, 132. Absolutely amazing if you forget those two terrible scores. He then developed some consistency and began scoring around 80-90 with a couple of tons thrown in, until the last two weeks where he has simply gone BANG!
I have also looked at his previous games again his upcoming opponents and while he does have to play Sydney and Hawthorn, his past two games against Sydney have been 90s and he has scored a ton against Hawks in one of his past encounters. If you also take into account that his last 3 games against West Coast have been 90+, then not only is his recent 2013 form great, but he has also shown form in recent games against his upcoming opponents. To top it off, in Sidebottom’s final game (the SuperCoach GF) he plays North Melbourne and is projected to score 122 (his highest for rest of season) and he averaged 109 against North across his whole career.
