Nathan FYFE (Fremantle - Value $528,600. Av 76. Stuffed shoulder – out or not?)
The biggest question for the 34% of SC teams who have Freo superstar Nat FYFE is whether or not he is going under the knife this week – and, if he doesn’t, whether he should be given the boot anyway. Freo are keeping pretty quiet about their champ, and the decision to operate or not is yet to be made – but just ask Jason Porplyzia what it’s like to play with a dodgy shoulder. My advice? It’s time for him to go. Freo might make that decision for us, but even if they don’t I’m not confidant FYFE can sustain decent scores in that type of physical shape.

Andrew CARRAZZO (Carl) - $515,500 Av 110
Scott SELWOOD (WCE) - $503,800 Av 134
Matthew LUENBERGER (Brisbane – Value $498,000. Av 70. Achilles injury – out 6 weeks)
One of the more popular ruckmen in 5.5% of teams, big LUEY has succumbed to an Achilles injury that will see him out of action for at least 6 weeks. This is a huge blow for the Lions, who rely on the big man’s agility and ability around the ground as much as in the centre circle. Despite dropping $56,100 since the start of the season, there are still some very impressive options as replacements for LUENBERGER in the ruck division of your SC team.
Possibilities : Ben JACOBS (Adel) - $497,800 Av 99
Ben HUDSON (Bris) - $453,500 Av 87
Matthew KREUZER (Carl) - $441,500 Av 103 My Choice - Gun
David HALE (Haw) - $417,500 Av 91
Hamish McINTOSH (Nth) - $400,200 Av 101
Ben REID (Collingwood – Value $383,700. Av 53. Injured quad – out for 3 to 4 weeks)
The Pies have had a nightmare start to 2012, and their run of injuries has not been helping the situation. REID has been added to that list after the weekends slaughter by Carlton, straining his quad muscle and looking to miss the best part of a month. Like a lot of his team-mates, REID hasn’t recaptured the form of recent times so far this year, and with a drop of $45,300 the 2.2% of coaches who have him need to ship him out.
Possibilities - Luke McPHARLIN (Freo)- $378,800 Av 81 My Choice–Always contributing
Sean DEMPSTER (St. K) - $377,800 Av 97
Josh DRUMMOND (Bris) - $369,400 Av 96
Matt MAGUIRE (Bris) - $343,300 Av 83
Jake BATCHELOR (Rich) - $305,600 Av 96
Luke BALL (Collingwood – Value $470,600. Av 63. ACL – out for the season)
The biggest tragedy to come out of Friday the 13th for the Magpies was the loss of inspirational midfielder Luke BALL for the entire 2012 season. This is a huge blow for the Pies, and BALL’s hard, tough work-rate under the packs will be sorely missed as Collingwood try to get their year back on track. Although he has dropped a whopping $59,900 since the beginning of the season, BALL is still worth enough cash to allow you to recruit a quality replacement though.
Possibilities : Nathan Van BERLO (Adel) - $470,800 Av 93
Shane TUCK (Rich) - $464,500 Av 105
Shaun GRIGG (Rich) - $458,900 Av 110
Tendai MZUNGU (Freo) - $457,500 Av 102
Lenny HAYES (St.K) - $453,300 Av 109 My Choice – An Absolute Legend
David HILLE (Essendon – Value $458,700. Av 45. Out for a month with a calf strain)
Injury prone Bomber big man David HILLE has succumbed to injury yet again, this time sustaining a calf strain in their unimpressive victory over the Gold Coast Suns. HILLE shoulders much of the Bomber ruck work together with Paddy RYDER, and his loss will have a significant effect on the undefeated young Essendon lineup. Only selected in 1% of SC teams as a cheaper ruck option, HILLE must now be moved on – a month is too long to wait.
Possibilities : Ben HUDSON (Bris) - $453,500 Av 87
Matthew KREUZER (Carl) - $441,500 Av 103 My Choice – On Fire
David HALE (Haw) - $417,500 Av 91
Hamish McINTOSH (Nth) - $400,200 Av 101
Shaun HAMPSON (Carl) - $376,900 Av 92
The other consideration to make this week is in relation to those players who have been handed out suspensions.
These include popular players Adam GOODES, Jack GRIMES and Brian LAKE. These three were all offered one week, so I would hold off on trading them UNLESS you really need to – and even then, the only one I would think of getting rid of is Grimes but again, only if you are ABSOLUTELY DESPERATE. They’ll be back next week and everything will be sweet again – hold off if you can!
