Well, after the disaster that was round three, at least we had a slight reprieve last weekend with injuries kept to a minimum. Should only be a couple of pots session this week – and maybe a bowl of peanuts.
Ironically the most influential injury this week going by the numbers occurred to a rookie, and only came through today. Adelaide midfielder Brad CROUCH (Av. 73) is in an incredible 35% of SC teams, and has twinged his hammy. Just how bad it really is we don’t really know, but at this stage the powers that be are saying he will miss a fortnight. Do you trade him? If you can afford not to, then don’t – but if you need a league win or bench coverage, maybe you have to. If so, look toward fellow Crow rookie Sam KERRIDGE (Av 70) or Brisbane Lion Sam MAYES (Av.75). I like MAYES – he could be a star.

Fremantle superstar Matthew PAVLICH (Av. 72) remains in 5% of SC teams despite missing last weekend’s match. If you’re on who still ha shim – what were you thinking! Get him out now – he’s gone for 4 to 5 weeks with an Achilles problem. It could be a bonus though – look at Cyril RIOLI (Av 108) or even better Collingwood monster Travis CLOKE (Av. 125) as more than adequate replacements.
Bomber go-to-man Michael HURLEY (Av. 91) is another to go down, this time with an ankle issue that may keep him out for a fortnight. In 3.7% of teams, HURLEY has been solid in 2013, but if you feel you need to trade him, then pull that trigger. Geelong utility and POD Matthew STOKES (Av 100) or WCE spearhead Josh J KENNEDY (Av. 104) could be just the men to take over the mantle.
In a surprising 3.5% of SC teams, Swan Lewis ROBERTS-THOMSON (Av 46) has injured his knee and will be out a month – too long to have him sitting on your bench, and besides – why is he in your team anyway? Get him out, making a bit of cash by trading down to Ports Jasper PITTARD (Av. 76) or, if you don’t have him, Bulldog Brett GOODES (Av. 101). LRT in your SC team – you cannot be serious!?!?
Much-maligned Hawthorn defender Ryan SCHOENMAKERS’ (Av. 62) season ended last weekend after doing an ACL – thus ending his involvement in the 1.8% of teams who selected him. Thos coaches have no choice but to move him on – look toward Crow Andy OTTEN (Av. 83) or Bulldog Brett GOODES (Av 101) to try and regain the ground you lost picking SCHOENMAKERS in the first place. Don’t make that mistake again.
Improved Richmond onballer Reece CONCA (Av. 93) is yet another to be hit by injury in round four, out for a month with a foot issue. In only 1.25% of SC teams, CONCA simply has to be replaced – and there isn’t a great deal to get for him. Port midfielder Chad WINGARD (Av. 113) or GWS big-mouth Dylan SHIEL (Av. 98) look to be the best of the possibilities.
Finally, Saint Beau MAISTER (Av.52) has injured his wrist and….no, surely anyone reading this website hasn’t got MAISTER in their team? If you have, you clearly like the unusual, meaning replacement Setanta O’hAILPIN (Av 90) is right down your alley. Enjoy the ride.
