Some big scorers from last week included, David Armitage topped the table with 175 SC points, while Dean Cox would’ve made many coaches proud, dominating Melbourne to post 171 points. The likes of Dustin Martin (150), Pearce Hanley (141), Trent Cotchin (139), Ben McEvoy (139) and the Josh Kennedy’s (136 respectively) also made plenty of SuperCoach’s happy.
Here are my captain choices for round 4.
Lance Franklin
He loves playing down in Tasmania; we all remember Buddy’s 13 goals against North Melbourne, clocking up 236 SC points. Few have reached that feat. Ross Lyon is a tremendous coach; will he be able to hold Franklin down with his defensive game plan? I believe Lance will be all duck or no dinner. If the Hawks get on top, he could crack 150.
Dean Cox
He was simply unstoppable last week on his way to 171 points, for those who had him as captain, well done. This week he comes up against a Kreuzer-less Carlton and will again be very tough to stop. Cox just continues to pump out huge scores, a safe choice.
Jobe Watson
Champion players don’t play two bad games in a row, and Watson will bounce back in a big way after he was well held by Crowley/de Boer. Last week he would’ve killed many coaches by scoring a measly 67 points. Watson has averaged 126 SC points since 2009 against the Saints, including a monster score of 196!
Dane Swan
The great Dane plays game 200. Expect him to rack up the touches as he always does. He can waste the ball at times, but I think in what will be a heated match, Swan will thrive on the challenge of Richmond’s up and coming midfield. He is a big game player, making him a very appealing player to whack the “C” on this week.
The Ablett warning
As mentioned before in this section, Ablett is a given captain choice until there is reason to say otherwise. I’m not saying steer clear of the little master this week, but just assess your options first. His past two scores have been 99 & 112, there is now rumours floating around about Gazza’s sore hand as well as the fact he comes up against an inform Kane Cornes. Just worth a note although he is always a chance of pumping out a 160.
So who are you picking this week? Tell me below!
