As for the top scorers of round six, my man ‘Bundy’ Christensen tore the Tigers apart on his way to a massive 177 points; Scott Pendlebury was a brilliant loophole option for many coaches delivering 161 points on Friday night. While previously out of form guns Patty Dangerfield and Dale Thomas showed everyone what they are capable of with 173 and 150 respectively. Andrew Walker (141) continues to churn out points at will, while Gazza (137) had no trouble with Ryan Crowley.
Here are my captain choices for round seven*
Patrick Dangerfield
He was back in a big way last week, smashing out 173 against the Hawks. Dangerfield has let many coaches down in the first five rounds, but he has hit form now and should have a field day against the Giants.
Martin is in stellar form averaging 108 this season, with returns of 115 and 125 in the past two weeks. The taggers have been paying Deledio all the attention this year leaving Martin to roam free, he is working much harder and is much fitter than 2012. Dusty is capable of massive scores a unique loophole option early in the round.
Josh Kennedy
Kennedy had a quiet grand final (83) by his lofty standards; however in his previous two games against the Hawks in 2012 the ever-reliable Swan was brilliant with scores of 126 and 173. In the much anticipated rematch I expect Kennedy to dominate, he has had a consistent start to the year but with just two scores over 110; look out for number three this week.
Dane Swan
What a gem this man is, so often marked as to “scrappy” for supercoach, his disposal may not the cleanest in the game but a guy who can rack up 40 touches, kick goals and run all day is invaluable. With 120+ averages in the past four years and again sitting at 124 after six rounds, Swan is simply a jet. He also loves playing the Dockers, in his past four meetings Swan has averaged 37.5 disposals and an amazing 143 SC points, need I say more?
Sam Jacobs
I always try and chuck in a big man for the week, and this man I pumped up pre-season and he has let me down big time. Jacobs has been very underwhelming but it’s time he stood up. Sando has put the heat on him for weeks now, he must deliver. Worth a gamble on the loophole, he destroyed the lowly Giants last time racking up 138 points.
*As mentioned in previous articles, Ablett is a captain lock if you have him in your side, I don’t include him in my weekly selections for that reason, he will annihilate the Demons on Sunday.
