line ups, making our captaincy that bit easier.
While those two stars return fresh from a week off, this round we will
have to do without the likes of Tom Liberatore, Marc Murphy, Kade Simpson and
any of the Hawks that have serviced us so well throughout the year. No doubt
round 8 was the most unwelcome of byes, but as cash cows begin to beef up and our
upgrades get rolling, this is where SuperCoach gets very exciting and some big
scores are sure to follow.
Last weekend’s top scorer was Josh Kennedy of the Eagles who had a day
out against the Giants, booting 11 straight goals! On the way to 183 SC points.
Tom Liberatore, as projected, dominated the Demons scoring 171, while fellow
midfielders Daniel Hannebery (159), Jobe Watson (158) and Bryce Gibbs (153) were
all productive.
Here are my captaincy selections for round 9!
Dane Swan
Swan has been in top form following a slow start to the season,
averaging 119 over the past month. Last time he took on the Crows he racked up
31 touches and 126 SC points, expect Swanny to again find plenty of the footy
and he is certainly one to consider tonight for your loop hole.
Josh Kennedy
JPK is a contested ball machine and wasn’t he at his best last week! 23
contested possessions along with 11 tackles equating to 153 SC points, these are the
type of numbers we have grown accustom to from the former Hawk. As the Swans
play on Friday night, Kennedy is a unique option for your
vice-captain.
Trent Cotchin
Cotchin, like most Tigers, hasn’t produced the start to 2014 they would've
been hoping for, but Cotchin has still returned a modest average of 100.7.
His record against the Dees in his past three matches since he joined the elite
of competition reads 119, 100 and 126 - I expect him to produce his best against Melbourne this weekend.
Aaron Sandilands
Again Sandi is an ideal option for your skipper. He has a very good
record against the Cats in recent times and while the Geelong rucks have been
impressive this year, he will again dominate around the stoppages. Don’t
hesitate in whacking either of the skipper options on Sandilands this
week.
Ablett vs Pendlebury
Ablett
Past 5 vs St Kilda – 90, 178, 64, 143, 138
Ablett is back into our sides and even better the Suns are playing the
final match of the round making him a no brainer for your captain (isn’t that always
the case?). He has had some huge matches against the Saints and there’s
no reason that will be changing now.
Pendlebury
Past 5 vs Adelaide – 153, 118, 124, 104, 96
A five game average of 119 against the Crows for Pendlebury, he polled
the three Brownlow votes last time they met and given they play tonight, I, like
many, will be putting the VC on Pendles.
Who is your captain this week? Playing it safe or taking a loop hole
gamble?
